The kick-off of the 3D Printing & IP Futures took place on 6 February 2017 at the CIPA Hall in London. Bringing together industry, lawyers, academics and policymakers this the aim of this workshop was to provide an overview the current use of 3D printing technologies, and help identify the most pressing issues related to IP. A prospective approach was also adopted and participants were asked to imagine what the landscape of 3D printing and IP would be in the coming decades.
Mixing talks and panel discussions, with open discussions with the audience, the workshop was a great success. It was hosted by Ludmila Striukova (UCL) and Thierry Rayna (Novancia Business School Paris)—for the project team—and David Humphries and Mary-Anne Venables—for the IPO.
